Place Value + Movement = A Winning Combination in 2nd Grade!
Homecoming Week has been full of fun at Lewis & Clark–Berthold, but we squeezed in some math fun along the way, too!
Our second graders have been working hard on place value to 1,000, and they’re gaining confidence with every lesson! On Thursday, we took our learning around the room—literally!
The kids played Place Value Around the Room, a math AND movement activity that had them up, moving, thinking, and showing what they know! They practiced representing 3-digit numbers in four different ways: 🔢 digits, ✏️ number names, 🧱 base-ten blocks, and ➕ expanded form.
Who says reviewing math has to mean sitting still?! 😉
It was a fun, active way to reinforce our place value skills—and our second graders were definitely moving, learning, and having a whole lot of fun! ⭐️

During Homecoming Week, our students and staff proudly wore blue and green in honor and memory of Hudson Bryantt—two colors that held a special place in his heart. It was a meaningful display of remembrance, support, and the strength of our school community. 💙💚

The preschoolers enjoyed a beautiful fall day for our annual apple-picking field trip! With buckets in hand, we walked to Mrs. Eide’s apple tree, where the children quickly got to work picking red and green apples. Before long, their buckets were overflowing! The preschoolers were fantastic walkers and made the trip back to school carrying their apples with lots of happy chatter.
It was a wonderful morning filled with fresh air, smiles, and special preschool memories. A big thank you to Dawn Eide for once again allowing us to pick from her apple tree, and to Mrs. Gathman, Miss Nikki, and Mr. Meiers for helping make our adventure possible.

The 6th-grade Longhorn girls' basketball team came away with a 25-21 win over DLB yesterday for the first-ever Longhorns girls' basketball win! 🏀🤘 The 4/5 Team also played well and fought hard!! Congrats, Coach B and Coach T!

6th grade went to Eco-Ed Day at Mouse River Park. It was an eventful day but the students handled it like champs and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine!

Lewis and Clark Elementary Girls Basketball Jamboree on Saturday, September 12. First games at 8:15 AM. Still in need of some concessions workers both shifts 8AM to 10:30 AM and or 10:30AM to 1 PM.
