The 8th grade class was learning about the 3 different type of rocks: Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary. They had to use their knowledge of the different characteristics of the rocks to identify the candy bars. For example: they identified a Rice Krispy Bar as a sedimentary rock. The specific type of rock was detrital sedimentary rock because the different rice crispy pieces was smaller rocks cemented together by minerals. They had to identify 17 different bags of candy bars. The 8th graders did an excellent job.
