The Stem students completed building bridge from balsa wood and wood glue. First before they began building, they had to do posters on different bridge types. Also, they had to complete building bridges challenges on a website that had them solve scenarios for a city that needed bridges built. When finished, they were given there supplies of wood glue and balsa wood. They had to complete requirements of making the bridge a maximum of 35 cm long and 5.5 cm width. When we broke them, we had bridges hold 7.5 lbs, 13 lbs, 20 lbs, and 25 lbs. Job well done 7th graders.
