The preschool classroom recently combined learning and fun with a hands-on jellybean activity as part of their study of the letter “J.” Each preschooler was given a sorting mat and a variety of colorful jellybeans to explore.
Students practiced early math skills by sorting their jellybeans by color, counting how many of each they had, and then creating simple graphs to represent their findings. The activity provided a wonderful opportunity to build counting, sorting, and graphing skills in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
The preschoolers did an excellent job with their graphs and took great pride in their work. The lesson was filled with excitement, learning, and plenty of smiles—especially when the students were able to enjoy their jellybeans as a sweet reward at the end!
