Perry Olson, Business Development Director with First International Bank and Trust of Minot, visited the junior Financial Literacy class last Wednesday. He spoke about the different services that banks and credit unions offer as well as the many career opportunities in the banking industry. We learned how community banks and credit unions support and give back to our local communities versus the large chain national banks. We also learned about the diverse career opportunities at banks such as personal bankers, loan officers, underwriters, and accountants. We also learned about other career opportunities at banks that don't involve the direct handling of money such as cyber security and IT, public relations, human resources, and marketing. Perry also answered any questions that students had.
