One of the many advantages of being part of Berthold School is the opportunity for our youngest learners to share a building with outstanding high school students. While their schedules don’t often overlap, special weeks throughout the year give our preschoolers a chance to connect with the “big kids” — and those moments make a lasting impression.
During FFA Week, high school students Adele Heberlie and Addison Neshem visited the preschool classroom to celebrate agriculture and literacy. They read a story about a cow and shared cow-themed coloring sheets with the students.
The preschoolers listened attentively to the story and worked carefully on their coloring pages, eager to impress their high school guests. Opportunities like this highlight the strength of a small school community, where older students model leadership and involvement, and younger students feel seen, valued, and inspired.
The FFA students also hid an FFA emblem in the elementary hallway and two of our preschoolers found it! They received a candy prize.
Berthold School is fortunate to have high school students who actively participate in activities that connect and uplift learners of all ages. Thank you Adela and Addison! Thank you Miss Filipek! Thank you FFA students!
