preschoolers with pumpkin

Just in time for Halloween, pumpkins took over our preschool classroom this week! From puffy painted jack-o’-lanterns to hands-on pumpkin investigation, our preschoolers had a blast learning, creating, and exploring all things October.

The preschoolers made puffy jack-o’-lanterns using our special puff paint—a mix of glue, shaving cream, and food coloring! The preschoolers did an amazing job stirring and mixing, and we learned that red + yellow = orange! They used paintbrushes to cover their pumpkins, then added cut-out eyes, noses, and mouths to create their own cheerful (and spooky!) jack-o’-lantern.

The preschoolers had so much fun with our pumpkin investigation! We carved open the top of a real pumpkin and dug right in. There were lots of squeals, giggles, “ooohs,” and “ewwws” as we explored the cold, slimy, squishy, gloopy pumpkin insides. Some kiddos were brave pumpkin scoopers, while others preferred to watch the action from a safe (and clean!) distance. Whether they were hands-on or hands-off, all the preschoolers loved learning about pumpkins from the inside out! Preschoolers painting pumpkinsPreschoolers painting pumpkinsPreschoolers painting pumpkinsPreschoolers painting pumpkinsPreschoolers painting pumpkinsPreschoolers painting pumpkinsPreschoolers painting pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkinsPreschoolers with pumpkins
