In the fall of 2024, the school planted several trees to replace the evergreens that were sick and removed by Pond's Ground Up business a few years ago.
The trees that were planted are actually called Lewis and Clark Elm trees. They were named to honor the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. These trees are hardy and can easily weather the harsh cold of our winters.
This year the 2nd grade class adopted the third tree from the fence. They visit it bringing with them gallons of water to help it grow and stay healthy. It had lots of sunshine and love since school started this fall. We decided to name the tree "2nd Grade Tree" and a sign was placed near the base of it.
We have a few more ideas for our tree before the snow flies this winter, hopefully. Come check it out!
