The 7th graders in STEM class discussed the "Engineering and Design Process". In this process, we discussed what research, constraints, criteria, brainstorming, and prototypes are. For this assignment, they had design a new Spider-Man or Spider-Woman based on the Joro spider. The Joro spider is making headlines by being an invasive species (a species that has no predator and is not original to the habitat) in the East Coast where the population is in the millions. The 7th graders had to do research on the Joro spider and make a super-hero not only based on the colors of Joro spider, but also the powers had to something that Joro spider does that is unique.
